Cooling-free pneumatic valve gate hot runners offer all the advantages of air actuation without the limitations associated with water cooling, hydraulic systems or electric actuators. New products like Rheo-Pro® iVG™ internal valve gate nozzles and Rheo-Pro® Black Box™ actuators are ideal for all valve gate hot runner applications, including high-temperature and cleanroom molding. These products perform under even the most extreme operating conditions by doing away with elastomeric seals, lubricants, and cooling. This new technology represents the future of automated, high performance injection molding.

 
Black Box valve gate actuators are cooling-free, that means they do not require cooling water or elastomeric o-ring seals to operate. They are ideal for all valve gate injection molded plastic parts including extremely high temperature applications.

Cooling-Free

New Black Box™ and iVG™ technologies are characterized by their durability and maintenance-free operation over millions of cycles. No more production outages to replace seals or cooling lines. This feature makes Black Box™ cylinders especially attractive for continuous operation in high endurance tools running automated mass production. By contrast, cylinder maintenance for conventional valve gate actuators is complicated in high temperature environments, especially inside stack molds and tandem molds.

Compact Molds

MHS offers a wide range of compact, space saving hot runner systems. The versatile range of iVG™ nozzles opens up new possibilities for cost effective production with all stack mold and tandem mold applications. In addition to back-to-back valve gating, the new technology can also be used inside a stack mold as a simple and reliable way to transfer melt from the stationary mold to the first parting line. The larger iVG30 nozzle can be extended and comes with melt bore diameters up to 20mm. This is an easy and effective way to double production of large and heavy weight parts.

Space inside the mold is extremely valuable. The patented design of Rheo-Pro® iVG™ nozzles makes it possible to build extremely compact single face molds as well as back-to-back 'short stacks' or stack molds with a tip-to-tip length of only 285mm and a pitch or gate-to-gate distance of 63.5mm. The space efficient internal valve gate offers exciting new options for tool makers and OEMs seeking the most competitive injection molding solutions including single face molds, stack molds, rotating cube molds, and multi-material injection molds. For molders, the ability to produce more plastic parts in smaller machines with less clamp tonnage means better operating costs, significantly higher production outputs and most importantly, more profitability.

iVG™

Clean, Compact and Durable
The new Rheo-Pro® iVG™ is the world's first and only internal valve gate nozzle. It is the only pneumatic valve gate hot runner that operates entirely without elastomeric seals, lubricants, or cylinder cooling. Unlike electric actuators, the iVG™ can operate at extreme temperatures of up to 400°C (750°F). Its patented design completely rewrites the rules of valve gating technology and creates endless new possibilities, from high cavitation to single drop hot runner systems.
